Biography

Yau Ting Sin, Rico (Hong Kong, 2003) is a junior contemporary artist currently studying at Staffordshire University.

Rico’s work is dedicated to study and explore human emotion. He tends to use the emotions he is most affected by as a starting point to study them in depth. In his research, he found that human emotions are complex, chaotic, uncontrollable, and even impossible to express in words, but there are traces of these emotions. Rico’s work is often presented in installation art, painting and mixed media. He likes to explore different materials to create various artworks, such as metal, 3D print, wood, and acrylic. He always utilizes objects and scenes to present the messages and emotions he wants to express and convey, hoping to use the scene in his works to convey the true feelings of human beingsto express those phenomenons, evoke emotional resonance in the viewer, and invite them to contemplate the work and its deeper meaning.
